Simon and Christopher from Bern launched Provide the Silde a few months after their trip to Liberia (2019). They wanted to give the surf community in Robertsport more than merely the boards they left there. Basti and Valentin are friends of the two and were immediately enthusiastic about the idea. Since then, all of us have contributed our own skills. Since we all come from different backgrounds, we complement each other well. At the same time our common stoke keeps the motivation high.

In everyday life Simon is a physiotherapist and helps people get healthy and fit. At the NGO Velafrica, Chris sends bicycles to many different African countries, providing mobility, income and social entrepreneurship. Basti is our media expert and part of a film collective called dasblau. Valentin is a sociologist of technology and researches digitalization, design and work. Since July 2020 we are officially a non-governmental organization, in short NGO.

Dan O’Sullivan

Originally from Florida Dan lives in Zürich for over a decade.

Fundraising, strategy, board collections, crazy ideas and providing a solid coffee supply to everybody around him.

Without the enthusiasm and expertise of many friends and partners, Provide the Slide would not be possible. Velafrica is our main partner and a great source of inspiration. Furthermore, two designers and other partners help us to constantly advance our project without financial interest and with a lot of confidence. We would like to thank all of them very much!

Besides our private partners we have several shops supporting us on our first step: Collecting boards and surf material just as bags, fins, wetsuits and more. As they have normal opening hours and most of the time a little place to store some boards they are a indispensable role in our network.
